Have you ever wanted a pet that isn’t very common? Well, most of those would be considered “exotic.” An exotic pet is a pet that is relatively rare, unusual to keep, or just considered a wild species rather than a domesticated pet. Some exotic pets can be domesticated. Some pets you might think are “exotic” are actually more common than you think.
Freshman Allie Anderson is considered to have an exotic pet. She found a baby skunk laying in the middle of the road and decided to take it in May of 2023. Allie named the skunk Pepper. She claims he is really easy to take care of. “My first thoughts were he was so small.” Allie says she enjoys him more than her previous pets in the past. Pepper can live inside or outside. “He eats cat food, eggs, vegetables, fruits, really anything.” Pepper has had a home for almost two years now.
