The teachers mugged each other. They didn’t steal anything though – in fact, it was the opposite. Mrs. Quarry and Mrs. Cruse put together an anonymous trade between a few teachers, called mugging. Mugging is when teachers fill mugs with different goodies and give them to each other.
When Mrs. Benge got to school one morning, she was very surprised to find out she had been mugged. When she walked into her classroom, she found it sitting on her desk. Hers was filled with soup, candy, and class supplies. A student brought Mr. Banda his mug, which contained candy and various classroom supplies. Mrs. Hackler found hers sitting outside her door. She got a frappuccino, chocolates, sticky notes, and pens.
Mrs. Humphries found hers in her classroom full of soup, chocolates, sticky notes, pens, and markers. Mrs. Odom also found hers sitting outside of her classroom and was pleasantly surprised. “I was given the cutest mug (in my coffee era) filled with candy and some great teacher gifts.” Mrs. Odom never figured out who had mugged her.
The teachers were very grateful to be able to participate in this super fun activity this year. It’s a great way to give to each other and form bonds between one another. They are all excited about the upcoming years and see what they have planned next.
