With the 2025 Winter Guard season drawing to a close, our Color Guard team is moving toward the Spring Showcase, Rookie Camp, Band Camp, and the 2025 marching season. This year, they are welcoming new members onto the team while working to improve on showing emotions.
Freshman Jillian Houle is proud of how far she’s come, stating “I think for my first year I did really good! I caught on quickly and learned stuff I thought I would never get.” The hardest part of the year was the beginning when she was still learning the basics – but being under the football stadium lights made it all worth it. She is very excited for the Spring Showcase so she can show family and friends how much the whole team has advanced since July. For the upcoming marching season, she hopes to have a good show with choreography that will wow everyone.
Sophomore Shyloh Sizemore believes she has improved a lot over the past year. Learning things was easier and she really enjoyed teaching the new members moves. Her favorite part was the whole Winter Guard season with “Every guard member being so supportive and all coming together to bring our best to competitions.” She is looking forward to football season because of the fun times everyone has by spending time with friends and performing. Shyloh hopes that the team will continue to do good and perform to the best of their abilities.
The Color Guard has their annual Spring Showcase May 12th at 6:30. It is in the high school gym with free admission, although donations are welcome. Come out and show your support to these performers!
