Poteau High school has acquired yet another excellent teacher to join the ranks, and we are proud to have her. Mrs. Rice, previously a substitute, has transitioned to teaching English classes. Mrs. Rice believes that everyone can learn and grow, a principle she has fostered as an educator for over four years. To keep her students engaged, Mrs. Rice incorporates their ideas into lessons and uses a variety of teaching methods. “Oh well, I just love to learn about my students, so I hope to learn what they like and what works best for them,” Mrs. Rice explained when asked how she keeps her students interested in class. She attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where she earned her Bachelor’s in English Education and a minor in Social Studies. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Rice enjoys reading, antiquing, doing arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.
