The Guinness Book of World Records, created back in 1955, is an annually published book containing world records of both human achievements and natural phenomena. More than 50,000 people each year attempt to be the next title holder. Let’s see if sophomore Kierra Athey could have the Guinness title to her name.
Starting in Canada, the longest side wheelie on an ATV is 112.5 feet. Kierra doesn’t think she could break it, stating “I’ve never done a wheelie and I think I would be terrified.” Moving westward into Alaska, Irv Gordon’s Volvo P1800S has the highest vehicle mileage ever, reaching over 3,000,000 miles. She doesn’t think she would break the record due to the fact that she would rather be the passenger. Going down to the United States, Californian Max Park set the record for the fastest time a Rubix Cube was solved, taking only 3.13 seconds. “No, I can’t even solve one.” In Florida, Joel Waul created the largest rubber band ball, containing more than a whopping 700,000 bands. Kierra thinks she could steal that title. Moving north into Kentucky, Jonathan Lee Riches filed the most lawsuits ever. She doesn’t think she would ever file that many lawsuits. Up in Minnesota, Diana Armstrong has 514 inch long nails. “No, I always break my nails.” Proceeding to New York, Doug “Censor” Martin accomplished over 9,000 pull ups in 24 hours. “No, I can’t even do one.” Taking a flight over to Europe, the longest distance swam underwater was 656 feet. Athey expressed that she could not break that record since she cannot hold her breath for very long. Down to Germany, Huy Giang hung from a power drill and spun 148 times in one minute. Kierra doesn’t think she could break that. Officially landing in Dubai, the tallest hairstyle ever reached over 9.5 feet. “I think I could do that. My hair grows pretty fast and I love long hair.”
