Hey Pirates, today the Pirate Log is coming at you with an exciting new update from the esports team! Our players have been competing in multiple games, so let’s get into what all has been happening this spring.
CJ Milligan and Brian Valdivias are competing in Multiversus, Milligan has gone 4-1 and Valdivias has gone 3-2, both are doing pretty good, so we’ll see how they fare going forward.
In Mario Kart Brian Valdivias and Eduardo Garcia have been participating as a duo and have scored first place in both the Broken Bow and Webbers Falls tournaments. The next tournament will be the state competition at the end of April, and with their track record we can be sure that they’ll do great there too!
Milligan and Valdivias also competed in the Super Smash Bros doubles, winning first place in Bixby back in January so they’re going to move on to the state tournament at the end of April.
Valdivias, Garcia, and Milligan have all qualified for an event called DreamHack. This is where they take all of the best players from Oklahoma [so it’s no surprise that our team got in] and they compete against the best players from Texas in certain games. The event they’re attending will be held in Dallas from May 23rd to 25th. It’s a massive event and is held all over the globe every year, and even if they don’t win first it’ll still be a great opportunity for the players, not only when it comes to experience in competitive gaming, but it will also be an awesome life experience to attend it.
Even if they don’t win the gold, they’ll still have an opportunity to meet more people in the competitive gaming community and broaden the experiences that they can draw from. It’s all in good fun of course, but let’s still root for the players representing our town and wish them the best. Thank you for reading and have an amazing day!
