November has left us and that means it’s time for the PHS Winter Guard to step up! At the end of football season, the color guard transitions into the winter guard, performing both solo and ensemble pieces throughout the season. Our team is one of about thirty in the division. Coach Ashley Moore is excited to see how the team’s confidence will grow as the season progresses: “The winter guard world is so inviting, supportive, and has an overall positive environment.” Their first competition will be a preview show at Mustang High School on January 27th. With a competition on February 10th and three shows in March with the 2nd at happening at Muskogee. They are hard at work practicing this year’s show, “Survival.” “We run through the show and clean up what needs to be cleaned and just make sure it looks the best it can look!” exclaimed Senior Brenna Adams. She went on to say “My favorite part about being in winter guard is how close we get as a team!” Best of luck to this incredible group of performers!
